| Customer Reviews: good but a little noisy May 19, 2008 Brandon S. Shoemake (Earth) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
First, let me say that I would not hesitate to purchase this power adapter again. The detractors from this otherwise stellar product is the size, and the noise. At more than twice the size of the original Toshiba power brick it is not small, but it isn't heavier than the original either. Setting the voltage is trivial and easy. Choosing the correct connector is also simple and it comes with several. My only complaint is the fan noise. This isn't a silent device but I am more than willing to live with it because my little Toshiba draws a LOT of juice! It killed two power adapters before I tried this one. I'm thinking this one will outlive the laptop and at less than half the price of the Toshiba or the iJuice. I definately recommend this power adapter.
Works well April 21, 2010 Traveler (U.S.A) As another reviewer mentioned, this is a little noisy. Some people will find it irritating. On the other hand, it works very well and it's easy to use. The only annoying thing is that the adapter piece that fits my older IBM laptop tap doesn't fit snugly, so it slips out all the time. I have to keep plugging it back in whenever I happen to shift the lap top for some reason.
Incompatible September 23, 2009 Lloyd W. Mcfarlin (Denver, CO) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Normally, I wouldn't post a negative review because of a product's incompatibility with another product. Usually, such events are a case of lack of research on the part of the purchaser. However, I actually went to Lenmar's site and typed in the model of my laptop. I was presented with a few matches. In this case, I typed in W500, and I chose the selection for "Lenovo (IBM) Thinkpad W500 - Laptop Device". This a direct match for my laptop. The model LAC130U adapter (the model I'm reviewing here) came up as a compatible product. Being sure I am now making an informed purchase, I came back here to Amazon and purchased it. I now have the product in-hand and I see that there is no included tip that matches up with my laptop. The largest tip is too small. I'm certainly not missing any tips (the packaging makes this obvious, with a plastic strip included with a slot for each tip). Worse yet, it seems that additional tips are not manufactured or sold. Now, I realize this can be construed as a review of Lenmar's site and/or the information provided there. Nonetheless, how can anyone expect to research their purchase if the site can't correctly match up compatible products?
