Extensive Reserve Power July 17, 2008 Robert Bruce (Arlington, VA USA) 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
I bought the MyPower All Plus MP3450 as well as the MyPower All Plus Extended battery MP3450-10 which comes with a plastic holder to clip both batteries together and daisy-chain them. I chose this battery setup over other offerings because I felt it to be the most versatile and to have the longest sustained power for long trips. Its the most versatile because it starts out by powering 5 volt USB powered devices and is selectable up to the most power hungry 19-volt laptops. It also offers an optional female car charger adapter which allows one to power dvd players and a wide range of other devices that can be run off a car cigarette lighter socket. I used this battery setup recently with the Sony PSP using the USB charge port on the battery on a 12-hour flight to China and at the end of the flight the battery indicator still showed 3/4 full. I also used it on a 6-hour cross-country flight with an Asus Eee PC laptop and again it ended the flight 3/4 full. While admittedly the Eee PC draws only 12 volts and actual runtime may have only been 4 hours, I find this quite good and would expect it to power my Eee PC for the full 12 hours on my next trip to China. The MyPower Plus comes with a large number of tips so finding the right tip for a device shouldn't be a problem. You just have to find which tip fits the best on your device and then look at your a/c charger and see what the output voltage is and set the mypower to the same output voltage. My son tried it out on his expensive Sony top-of-the-line Vaio laptop and was so pleased he asked me if he could use it on his upcoming business trip to Australia. With a price tag of well over $250 for the two batteries plus options I am of course very pleased to see others put it to good use.
GREAT! May 19, 2009 Newport (Hampton, VA United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
the Tekkeon rechargeable battery was fully charged right out of the box. I plugged in my ipod touch 1G, ipod nano 4G....they worked great.
Next, I had trouble trying to figure out what volt rating was best for my new hp mini netbook SO I had to remove my battery and look at the volt reading inside the battery compartment and found out that it is 19v, So I set the rechargeable battery to 19v and it worked perfectly. I also plugged my ipod in at the same time and they both worked simultaneously.
After that I tried my 9v DVD player w/ipod connector and it worked perfectly with that.....it was 4 for 4.
The only minor problem is that the stem on the adaptor is not quite as long as the original one, meaning you have to make sure when you move the computer the adaptor does not fall out of the power connector.
By the way, I also like the fact that this charger does allow you to keep tabs on how much charge is left in the battery all you have to do is press a button and lights light up giving you an indication of how much charge is left.
UPDATE!!!! Just bought a new ipod touch 3G AND the charger DOES NOT intially charge the 3G touch. I had to plug the charger into the wall outlet THEN plug my ipod into the charger for it to initiate the charging. It works PERFECTLY once you get the ipod 3G to start the charge. (Another way I initiated the charge was to plug in another ipod that actually works with the charger for about 20 seconds, unplug it, then plug my 3g into the charger and it started the charging on its own)
Great product, just make sure you get the tips for Dell November 8, 2009 Brian Cathcart (Coconut Creek, FL) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Great product! But only 2 stars on the tips, because it doesn't come with one for Dell laptops (round barrel type) - a MAJOR blunder on Tekkeon's part in my opinion - Dells are one of the most common laptops in the field and yet you have to order it separately from Tekkeon. Thankfully one of the other reviewers had mentioned this so I ordered the tip (model PA-N11) from Tekkeon at the same time as the battery from Amazon.
I had the choice of this or the Dell battery slice. I went with this because I can use the Tekkeon with more than just my laptop, and with around the same capacity. As for how it does, on my Dell Latitude E4300 on a trip to Germany (8 hour flight) I used it (together with the optional second battery MP3450-10) for about 3-4 hours. It was down to 6 bars out of 8, plenty of power left over running at 19v. However it's important to note that this would only keep power to the laptop and not charge my laptop's internal battery. This might be a configuration setting I need to change in the laptop, but if not, keep in mind that this may not charge your laptop's battery. Even with that I'm still happy with the battery.
The battery comes with its own ppower supply for charging, but to save having to carry it around I HIGHLY recommend getting the Input adapter tip from Tekkeon. The adapter plugs into the end of your laptop power supply and allows you to charge the Tekkeon battery from it, saving you from carrying two power supplies. Granted with this setup you can't charge both the your laptop and the battery at the same time, but I would prefer having to carry less with me. On my trip to Germany I left the Tekkeon power supply at home and am charging the battery from my laptop supply. The Dell input adapter is model PA-N11F, order it at the same time you order the Dell tip from Tekkeon's website ([...]). I'm sure other brand laptop tips are available as well.
Overall very happy with this. I can power my laptop and charge my cellphone or PSP (both use USB port) at the same time. Just remember for Dells with the round barrel connector to get the tip (PA-N11) and input adapter (PA-N11F).

Tekkon MP3450 a must for frequent traveler November 5, 2009 William J. Uhalt (Miami, FL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
With the the mp3450 50 watt or 13200mah battery, it can really charge run devices. I mainly use it to keep my iphone, mophie juice pack air, and Back Beat 903 head phones charged while traveling on airplane/airports where finding wall plugs are at a premium. It also charges and runs my IBM think pad. I get about 9 Iphone complete charges along with head phones recharge on one mp3450 charge. For the the laptop, its give me about 2-2.5 hours of extra battery time. It basically will run any device from 5v to 19v battery devices, you just need to make sure you have the required tips for the devices you have. about 10 tips come with package. Other tips can be purchased at tekkon website.
