I bought one of these to make my life easier when I had to head out for customer meetings and demos. Before I was alway running late because I was trying to carefully pull out the cords and cables and my desk got worse in terms of the cable mess. This made disconnecting a snap and fits the gap in a great product that Apple developed.

I agree with most reviews I've seen about this product. It is somewhat hard to connect at first, but once you get the feel of it, it improves. I like the way it lifts the computer so that all of the heat is not on your desk. It is definately a docking station, i.e. you don't want to take it around with you, so you have to shut down to take your laptop out. All in all, it does the job.

I wanted a docking station so that i could quickly connect my mac book pro to my home theatre system. This product does the trick. The only connection it doesn't have is the digital audio (toslink) connection. My receiver fortunately has a usb connection, so that's what i use. The other caution i would give is that you must READ and FOLLOW the directions carefully. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy and it works.

I loved the idea of this product. I take my laptop out and about and would like to efficiently just slide it into a dock to control cords for peripherals and clean up my work desk environment. I finally ordered it with great excitement and anticipation. For some reason, it takes way waaaaaaay more time to delicately dock the laptop into bookendz than it does to plug it in and out each time of use. Nice customer service person at Bookendz said it may just be faulty and suggested return to ordering source.
