I've used my Logitech Portable Desk for a couple of days now with a 15" MacBook Pro and an old 13" iBook. I hauled it in a backpack to and from work. I've put the mouse tray to task. All in all, I have to say this is by far the best lapdesk I've ever used and at half the price. It's incredibly light and does a great job of keeping the heat off my lap. The surface area is precisely the same size as my MacBook Pro and grips the computer well. There are also non-skid bars on the bottom of the desk that keep it in place.
The mouse tray has a beveled edge that prevents your mouse from slipping off. It's pretty solid for a slide out. Note that if you use the Logitech Portable Lapdesk with a corded mouse, make sure you have a USB port that's not on the same side of the computer you mouse on. There is very little space there and I was forced to use a mouse with a long cable so I could plug it into the other side of my laptop (i.e., I couldn't use my mighty mouse). Most people can get around this with a Bluetooth mouse, unfortunately my employer disables Bluetooth on our company-issued laptops.
Overall this is a great lapdesk that I will recommend to friends and coworkers.

As my title says, this lapdesk is almost perfect. The flaw is in the pullout mouse tray. Within a few days of use, I noticed that the thin ridge around the tray was causing discomfort in my palm. However, I noticed that when I turned the lapdesk over, the bottom side of the mouse tray has 3/4 inch smooth border which is very comfortable on the palm. It may not be as pretty upside down, but it sure feels nice. I use this lapdesk every day for several hours and I am very happy with this product. Buy it, but flip it over for best comfort!

This lapdesk is very lightweight and fits easily in your laptop bag. What I like the most about it is the surface because it grips to the laptop so that your laptop doesn't slide around when you move. The slide-out tray on the side is a bonus too. It's nice to have a surface for the mouse and it even has grooved edges so the mouse doesn't slide off. It also is good for a writing surface or to hold the tv remote control, coffee, cell phone, whatever. I have about 9 lapdesks and this is the only one I use now.

As you can tell from my review, I have come to expect well-designed and made products from Logitech (having used many of their mice & keyboards over the years), and this portable lapdesk lives up to these expectations. It is attractive, sturdy and seemingly well-built, and very functional as well.
I am using this lapdesk with my 15" MacBook Pro & it fits perfectly - like they were made for each other. In fact, I am using it in conjunction with my iLap Laptop Stand for MacBook Pro by Rain Design. I have the Logitech portable lapdesk sandwiched in between the iLap & my MBP. This provides a very-handy slide out mousing tray (by virtue of the Logitech lapdesk) that I did not have with the iLap alone. And, the additional 1/2 inch or so of height due to the Logitech lapdesk is not too much - the padded wrist rest on the iLap is still functional.
The Logitech lapdesk is made of high-impact plastic w/ a light gray top & a contrasting darker gray bottom and mid-tone gray slide-out mouse tray. The top of the lapdesk itself is non-slip & slightly dimpled. The bottom has two long black rubber non-skid feet along the longest dimension, top & bottom. The slide-out mouse tray has a long indentation on the bottom for easy grasping & pulling out. It slides out easily enough (it feels like there might be internal bearings or wheels to facilitate this), but not so easily that it will slide out on its own (time will tell if it becomes looser with use). When extended, the tray stays out well on its own, but is easily enough sliped back in with a gentle push. The mouse tray measures 6" wide by 7-1/2" deep, and provides sufficient room for my wireless notebook mouse (Logitech, of course!), without being so large that the tray itself is in the way. I have not tried it on an airplane yet, but I think it will work well, providing a mousing surface not available on the little airline tray tables without extending out so far as to hit your seatmate or, if used in a window seat, the interior of the plane. The surface of the mousing tray is smooth plastic, and my laser notebook mouse tracks very well & accurately on it. It has a slightly raised edge with a black rubber "bumper", preventing mousing off the edge of the tray.
It is fairly light; while it could be lighter in weight, that would mean it would be made of flimsier materials resulting in less of a "good build" feel and probable decreased durability. It slips easily into my laptop's Swiss Army laptop backpack (which, granted, is roomy by my choice of model). So, I think Logitech struck the right balance between size, weight & build-quality.
Finally, the only possible negative for this lapdesk is that the mousing tray slides out right were the USB & FireWire ports are on the right side of my MBP. This is not really a fault of Logitech's - any portable lapdesk with a slide out mousing tray on the right side will have this problem when used with a laptop with ports on the same side. Fortunately, my MBP also has a USB port on the left side for my wireless mouse's receiver (and, my wife's newer wireless Logitech notebook mouse's receiver is so tiny it would not be in the way even on the right side). But anything else plugged into the right side of my MBP, like a USB or FireWire cable, gets in the way of mousing. But, I am not detracting anything from my "5 stars" for this product because it is an inherent issue that could only be resolved by making the slide out mouse tray much wider, which would make it impractical, especially for airliner use.
To wrap it up, I love this product. I highly recommend it!

It's as simply as it gets, and an excellent choice in a portable lapdesk.
Appealing in every way. The thin (about 0.5") and light design (my postal scale weighs it in at 1lb 13oz) makes it a perfect companion to your notebook carrier or bag. A highly confident no-skid surface has a rubberized feel, and your computer is very secure. The cool slide out mouse pad/tray is firm and does not move with use. The pad is exceptional for traction or laser.
I currently have two testable units.. a 15"+ PC and 8"+ netbook. It's great for both, but the larger proves that this desk is the perfect fit as it is invisible once placed. Usage appeal for me is, ironically, in bed. I have bought several options for bed use in the past, but always found them to be cumbersome or difficult to move etc. And god forbid you had to get up quickly. With this desk, you simply move your computer instead of having to move one then the other. Then there is car use. No more lugging something to avoid burning your legs. A simple take-along and it slides right under the seat. I have not used it for travel or airplane, but I see this as a great option if needed. My PC is getting "older" and I feel it gets hotter than it should at times, but this is a great remedy. The hollow core keeps it cooler and safer. When not in use, I store it easily on my bookshelf, and it takes no room.
